WVELA 2020 has been canceled due to WVU closure in response to Covid 19 pandemic
This annual conference, co-sponsored by WV Council of Teachers of English (WVCTE), the National Writing Project at WVU (NWP@WVU), WVU’s student chapter of NCTE (NCTE’eers), and the West Virginia Humanities Council (WVHC) is an opportunity for English and language arts teachers from around West Virginia and the region to share and learn insights and practices from their classrooms, and to learn from nationally recognized teachers and writers. Teachers' Day of Writing
On Saturday, November 11th, 2017 we are hosting a day for teachers to be writers! This is a free event to help you meet your writing goals, whatever they may be. Wannabe poets, essayists, memoirists, and National Board-seekers are all welcome.

The National Writing Project at West Virginia University offers workshops on writing
and teaching writing that are designed for teachers of all levels and disciplines.
The type of professional development workshop that is best for you depends on the
needs of your teachers and the goals of your program.
